Michel Odent is a French former surgeon and childbirth expert. He is the founder of The Primal Health Research Centre in London and in the 1970’s he was the first obstetrician to write about water-births in medical literature. His concept of “home-like” birth centres in hospitals is now standard in maternity units throughout the world.
In this conference, Michel Odent talks about a little researched topic, the long-term consequences of the way a child is born, for the development throughout an individual’s life. He shows how changes in global birth practice relate to rates of depression, allergies, autism and other problems.
